French level tests

There are different tests and diplomas for the French language. Each of them evaluates a different aspect of the language.

The DELF and DALF diplomas evaluate your knowledge on one level at a time, A1,A2,B1,B2,C1,C2. The exams to obtain this diploma are oral comprehension and production as well as written comprehension and production. Each of them is graded out of 25 points, 5 points being the lowest grade admitted to pass. You therefore obtain your diploma if you have 50 out of 100 points.

The TCF and TCF-DAP tests evaluate your knowledge in the 6 different levels. The TCF only has three compulsory exams. (Oral and written comprehension as well as language systems.) The TCF-DAP has four exams, the same as the TCF to which must be added written production.

You are tested on documents that are based on all 6 levels, A1,A2,B1,B2,C1,C2. Each correct answer gives you points, the B2 level is obtained with a grade over 400 out of 699 points.

The Chamber of Commerce of Paris organizes French diplomas.
