The 26th edition of the Journée du patrimoine will take place on the 19th and 20th September. Each year more then 12 millions of people visit the museums and buildings of cultural heritage for free. France organises this event each year at the end of summer since 1984. The areas selected and the activities organized tell a lot on the richness of France’s rural, architectural, archaeological, military and religious heritage. Since 1991 the Journées du patrimoine are celebrated in other European countries.

The tourist information offices provide information and the detailed program of the activities is available since several days. This year the theme is « a cultural heritage accessible for everybody », which honours the policies held to improve access for invalid persons and people that don’t have an access to culture.
