That 21st of July 1969, Neil Armstrong made the first human footprint on moon, which made one of the oldest, and exciting dreams come true. More than 600 millions people watched that event retransmitted on television. People got up that night and stayed awake to view that amazing event. Armstrong pronounced those words that will become so famous: « That’s one small step for a man, a giant leap for mankind ».
This year for the 40th anniversary, many television programs will broadcast documentaries and interviews on that event, for us to remind that incredible day. It will also be the best moment to take stock of future spatial projects.
A few days ago, on July 14th, six European astronauts ended a simulation trip to space that lasted 105 days. They were confined in real conditions in order to analyze their behavior as for a future mission to Mars.
In Lyon, the Planetarium of Vaulx-en-Velin opens its doors on July 21 and 22 for two days of special events programmed for kids but also documentaries on the conquest of space and the landing on moon.
