On April 1st, French people usually celebrate the so-called April Fools’ Day.
They have fun at the expense of their friends by giving them absolutely false news or letting them do absolutely useless things. If they get angry, one word is enough to calm them down: “April fool!”The origin of these jokes is really obscure. Someone dates it back to the realm of Luis XIII, others to Christian history or to pagan beliefs. No matter the explanation of this tradition, the most important thing is to enjoy this day.
