1945-1949. THE BEGINNING, AS IF THE PAINTING HAS NEVER EXISTED.
Par Estie, jeudi 23 octobre 2008 à 09:47 :: Visites culturelles : vivre en France
Musée des Beaux-Arts,Lyon. From 24th October 2008 to 2nd February 2009
The Ministry of Culture and Communication/Direction of museums of France recognize this exposition. It dedicates the art after the II World War, in Europe and in the North of America. This is the period from the end of the II World War to 1949, cold war time. This period, it’s worthy to underline, became a decisive moment in the life of the majority of the 21st century artists (Pollock, Newman, Rothko, Soulages, Fontana). The traumatic experiences constitute the beginning of a new type of creation of many different artists from both sides of the Atlantic. The title is chosen from the repetition of the explicit formula of the American painter Barnett Newman.
